December 2008Meeting Minutes of UUFP Social Concerns Committeehttp://wiki.fini.net/bin/view/UUFP/MeetingMinutes2009x01x13AttendeesPamTenney?, Jerry Tenney, Posey Walton, MasonMoseley?, Patricia Moseley, Donna Sprock, Sandra Engelhardt, ChristopherHicks (in spirit)Review MinutesI don't remember this part too well. But I think we said we had a meeting last month and it lasted so many minutes and that was good.Agenda ItemsI don't think that anyone had an agenda. Although Pam had a bit of an attitude when the secretary said something irrelavent.PORTMason asked about preps for PORT. Pam said that we have been in talking to PORT. We have $149. We will need $300 per night. Sandra was curious about the menu to be served. So she used the cellphone to call Donna of the Great Tub. Rumor has it she was taking a bath at the time with candles incense and a Brahms Concerto somewhere in the distance. Well, anyways, the Donna's cellphone went to the message mode. Mason said we need to know about the number of people staying at PORT. Pam said we are doing Friday night and Saturday morning. The phone rang. Donna was out of the tub. Sandra about chili. Donna said she was on her way. Mason asked are peeps signing up to help at Port. Pam said yes. But her mind was in the closet. (I don't know why I wrote that). While we are talking about PORT related links... Someone said Dan Moore's mom works for LINK. So he organized a work party. Pam reminded us that PORT is January 9th and March 29th. This part not included. It is a confession. I have had 743 things to do and didn't get the minutes done until now. Well my notes are almost there and so is my memory. I will do better next time. Okay now back to the included part.Smithfield SalonNo Smithfield Salon. They may be suspended indefinitely.TJDNo gnus here.New BusinessSo we talked about Justice Sunday. But I am fuzzy about this. Sandra said the next G. A. will be on Ethical Eating (Is that right? I might have screwed up reading my notes.) Dennis Shaw is doing the Adult RE program and wants to know if Social Concerns wants to do a program. He said May was open. Pam said Julie Hill said there were two UU peeps that weren't up to speed on their Lost Boy pledges. Mason asked if Julie Hill is good with accurate news. Pam said: "I think so." And I am so glad she did because if McCain? had won we would all have to say:"You betcha!" like Sarah Palin. Well I saw the movie Fargo once (and that was once too often) and I just couldn't handle walking around saying: "You betcha!" all the time. Sandra said that there is a Veterans' Caucus organizing in the Democratic Party. Next Meeting: So we talked about having the next meeting Monday, January 26th. But Mason had a better idea which was to meet after the Sunday Service on January 25th at a restaurant called Mike's on Warwick Boulevard near Bill's Seafood. (Do baby seagulls get their dinner from a bill's seafood?) Okay so this is my first time being the messenger. Please don't shoot the horse.• Posted by: JerryTenney - 14 Jan 2009 Back to: MeetingMinutes |
