Peninsula Peace Project

There was a plan to hae a vigil on 15 March with white flags for commemorating the war dead, but it seems unlikely at this point. A more viable plan is to do a monthly peace protest on the 1st Satuday starting in April. Initially we will be at Warwick & Main at 11:30am. Chris Woods is going to follow up with folks that have not returned to PPP meetings to see why they left and encourage them to attend again.

Justice Sunday

Plan is to go with the sermon from the UUA: "Voices and Choices." The UUSC theme for this year is "The Cost of Iraq: Who pays the price?" Buffy will send out a sample Order of Service. Sandra will do the Children's Focus. Christine Woods would like to share information from her attendance at the "Virginia is for Heroes" conference. Mason will coordinate having folks do various parts for SoCo members. Lynn Finding from PORT will be sharing an update on local poverty as part of the service as well.

PORT

Tue 18 March at Warwick Memorial Methodist Church is our night for doing PORT.

Pam will coordinate with Donna to try to get a comment submitted to the UUA before the 1 March deadline.

Social Concerns Sunday

Chris will get a blurb out for the Sunday bulletins for Manufacturing Consent.

Adult RE

No interest for doing summer RE projects at this time.

Lost Boys

Pam has spoken with Julie and has gotten an update that she will prepare for the bulletin board.

David Walsh

Will reschedule for next month.

Smithfield Salon

The next one is on Saturday 1 March on "Freedom vs. Religious Intolerance".

CROP

We received a participation certiface for the UUFP's contribution to the CROP Walk in Oct 2007. $7481 was raised by the entire CROP Walk. The next one will be 28 Sept.

TJD

TJD annual meeting will be 25/26 April in Asheville, NC.

Next Meeting: 24 March 2008 at 7pm.
